fully symmetrical intake and exhaust systems increase air intake and reduce exhaust back pressure. a secondary air system helps heat up the catalysts faster, while the fuel-air ratio is precisely controlled across the entire rpm range. together these systems boost fuel efficiency while cutting emissions.

advanced aerodynamics

low drag, minimal lift, or effective cooling of the running gear: the laws of aerodynamics say choose only one. the nissan gt-r's engineers refused to comply, refining every body detail to optimise the airflow over, under and through the vehicle. even the underbody is completely smooth, including a rear diffuser tray made of carbon fibre. so despite its super-slippery 0.27 drag coefficient, the gt-r harnesses the wind to run cooler and not just eliminate lift but actually generate downforce, making it one of the most aerodynamic vehicles in the world.

adjustable suspension

along with the transmission and esp, the gt-r’s self-adjusting bilstein® suspension offers three driving modes. select r-mode and the shocks instantly firm up for flatter handling, quicker response and super-direct feedback. high-accuracy progressive-rate coil springs, like a racecar’s, reward you on challenging roads without punishing you on rough surfaces.

adjustable transmission

enthusiasts argue that a manual gearbox offers the best control in any situation. but even in automatic mode, the dual clutch sequential 6-speed in the nissan gt-r outperforms. the engine’s huge torque output means the gearbox can get into a high gear more quickly to help both noise levels and improve fuel consumption.

485ps from just 3.8 litres is pur supercar territory. each engine is assembled by one skilled technician, and features exotic components like a magnesium oil pan and twin ihi turbos to trim weight and add power. in addition, advanced, super-hard plasma-lined cylinder walls cut friction for an increased performance boost that you feel instantly, and for endurance in the long-term.

independent transaxle

nissan engineers developed an all-new premium midship platform exclusively for the gt-r. its 53/47 front/rear stationary weight distribution shifts to the ideal 50/50 balance in critical moments whilst driving, for example when powering out of a corner. the transmission, differential and transfer case are integrated at the rear of the car, separate from the engine. beyond overall balance, this layout aso helps reduce vibration, enhances body rigidity and even allows for better pedal placement.

esp + awd

on slippery, wet roads, the electronic stability programme (esp) teams with the advanced 4wd system to become your greatest ally. they continually rebalance its torque and braking forces among all four wheels based on available traction and the car's response to your driving inputs. the outcome: better control, fewer surprises.
